Scriabin’s Hidden Etude: Standard vs. Alternative Version

Deep technical insight, refined artistry, and the secrets behind one of Scriabin’s most powerful works.

In this course, pianist Denis Zhdanov reveals the two faces of Scriabin’s legendary Etude Op. 8 No. 12 — the familiar published version and the alternative draft the composer never released.

Through detailed, bar-by-bar demonstrations, Denis guides you in mastering both versions while exploring Scriabin’s unique pianistic language and expressive world.

You will learn:

  • Highly efficient fingering and learning strategies for both hands
  • Memory and practice methods that ensure stability under pressure
  • Remedies against tension and how to build a natural, effortless technique
  • How to achieve a singing tone and a noble, resonant forte
  • Deep interpretation insights and the key differences between the two versions
  • Intelligent pedalling concepts that bring Scriabin’s harmonies to life

Filmed with four synchronized cameras, including a pedal view, this course offers a rare, immersive perspective of Denis’s playing and teaching process.

Whether you are an intermediate student seeking to understand the roots of Scriabin’s style or an advanced pianist refining your interpretation, this course provides a comprehensive guide to both technical mastery and artistic depth in the great Russian piano tradition.
