This course offers a detailed, practical approach to Scriabin’s Étude Op. 8 No. 1, focusing on building a reliable and natural technique while avoiding unnecessary tension. The piece is used as a case study for efficient movement, sound control, and expressive playing.
We work on technique optimization through intelligent fingering choices, hand coordination, and economical motion. Special attention is given to tension management, helping you recognize early signs of stiffness and replace them with freer, more functional movement patterns. The goal is not brute strength, but clarity, control, and ease.
Pedaling is addressed in detail, including how to support harmony and color without blurring texture. You will also explore the character of the piece, shaping long lines, harmonic direction, and expressive intent so that musical ideas guide the technique rather than the other way around.
By the end of the course, you will have a clear practice strategy for this étude, a more natural technical approach, and tools that transfer directly to other works by Scriabin and the wider Romantic repertoire.

About your instructor:
I'm a Ukrainian pianist currently living in Austria, and I've had the privilege of building a strong reputation in the world of classical music. Over the years, I've achieved success in several international competitions, solidifying my position as a well-known concert performer. However, my passion doesn't stop at performing; I'm also deeply committed to teaching the piano.
As a piano teacher, I go beyond simply focusing on style and musicality. My primary goal is to help students optimize their piano-playing techniques for efficiency. I've had the pleasure of working with students from all corners of the globe, assisting them in revamping their piano techniques, relieving tension, recovering from piano-related injuries, and developing effective learning strategies. I take a comprehensive approach to piano instruction, aiming to be a valuable resource for pianists looking to improve their skills, overcome challenges, and realize their full potential.
I wish you an exciting learning experience!
Sincerely,
