Play Chopin’s Ballade No. 2 with Freedom, Power, and Expression
Advanced Piano Course by Denis Zhdanov
Chopin’s Ballade No. 2 is one of those pieces that truly shows what kind of pianist you are — not just technically, but musically. In this course, I’ll help you bring it to life with confidence, depth, and ease.
We’ll go deep into the tricky technical spots — fast runs, wide jumps, dynamic contrasts — and I’ll show you how to master them without tension or overworking your hands. I spend a lot of time on motion coordination and efficient playing, so you can feel relaxed and in control, even in the most intense sections.
But technique is only part of the story. This course is also about unlocking the music’s emotional core. I’ll guide you through interpretation ideas, phrasing, and how to make this Ballade truly personal — mature, expressive, and full of contrast.
If you’re an advanced pianist looking to deepen both your technique and your artistry, this is for you.
What you’ll get:
- Step-by-step lessons on the whole piece
- Techniques for tension-free playing and efficient movement
- Practice tips to improve speed and control
- Ideas for shaping phrases and building musical drama
- Tools to boost your confidence and expressivity
Let’s make this masterpiece yours.

About your instructor:
I'm a Ukrainian pianist currently living in Austria, and I've had the privilege of building a strong reputation in the world of classical music. Over the years, I've achieved success in several international competitions, solidifying my position as a well-known concert performer. However, my passion doesn't stop at performing; I'm also deeply committed to teaching the piano.
As a piano teacher, I go beyond simply focusing on style and musicality. My primary goal is to help students optimize their piano-playing techniques for efficiency. I've had the pleasure of working with students from all corners of the globe, assisting them in revamping their piano techniques, relieving tension, recovering from piano-related injuries, and developing effective learning strategies. I take a comprehensive approach to piano instruction, aiming to be a valuable resource for pianists looking to improve their skills, overcome challenges, and realize their full potential.
I wish you an exciting learning experience!
Sincerely,
Denis Zhdanov
